Welcome to our self catering project section. We will use this section to keep you updated of the progress of our self catering project. A project that we believe to be a world's first and if not that is certainly a first for Ireland and Northern Ireland.
So what is the project? In 2006 we decided to create decent and affordable self catering accomodation at our current site. Self catering accomodation is fairly rare in Northern Ireland alone but we decided to make it accomodation with a difference.
In 2006 the opportunity arose for us to purchase a decommisioned 1960 Brel Derby Railway Carriage that had former serviced the railways of Northern and Southern Ireland. With the history of this carriage having been steeped in Ulster we decided that this was perfect. Not only would it carry the history and offer something different but it would also be a great engineering feat that fully displays our notable engineering skills. That decided the carriage was purchased and erected on site this section will cover the journey of that project from start to finish and the carriage's final resting spot.
